If you break it, you pay for it
We all deserve to live in safe, thriving communities.
But right now, ordinary people pay the price for climate breakdown and cost of living while the corporations that fuel these crises walk away with trillions in profits.
It’s time to Make Polluters Pay their fair share.
Flooded homes and businesses. Rising food and energy prices. Extreme heat. Damaged infrastructure. Stretched public services. Why should we pay for the climate damage they cause?
There’s a simple solution: if you break something, you should pay for it.
We’re building a UK-wide movement to make the biggest fossil fuel polluters pay their fair share for the climate damage they cause and towards the solutions our communities need to stay safe and thrive.
Start a campaign where you live
Tipping Point is supporting communities across the UK to launch their own local Make Polluters Pay campaigns.
Together we’re demanding a Community Superfund paid for by taxes and levies on big fossil fuel corporations profits.
Here’s how it works:
🗳️ Survey your community — have conversations and ask a simple question: who should pay for the rising costs of climate damage: communities or big polluters?
📊 Build visible public support — take your survey and petition door-to-door, into workplaces, community spaces and local events to build majority support for this simple idea.
🏛️ Win local backing — use your survey and petition results to persuade councils, MPs and other local institutions to publicly support your ‘polluters pay’ demands.
📣 Act together nationally — join communities across the country taking coordinated action against the corporations and institutions driving climate breakdown.
One community can be ignored. Hundreds acting together can’t.
By working together, we can secure funding for the solutions our communities need to thrive like:
- better protection from floods, extreme heat and drought for our hospitals, schools and libraries
- community-owned energy and water sources
- secure green jobs
- free public transport,
- food security
- protection for those forced to flee their homes due to wildfires, floods or drought.
